Chargé d’Affaires a.i. of the Chinese Embassy in Nigeria Zhou Hongyou Meets with Nigeria’s Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology

On August 20, Zhou Hongyou, Chargé d’Affaires of the Chinese Embassy in Nigeria, met with Kingsley Tochukwu Udeh, Nigeria’s Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology, to exchange views on promoting cooperation in the fields of sci-tech innovation.

Chargé d’Affaires Zhou noted that the China-Nigeria comprehensive strategic partnership has continued to deepen under the strategic guidance of the two heads of state, entering a “fast track” of high-level development. Taking the 55th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relationship as an opportunity, China stands ready to work with Nigeria to actively implement the outcomes of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) Beijing Summit and the important consensus reached by the two heads of state, while supporting two-way exchanges and practical cooperation in sci-tech innovation to achieve greater results.

Minister Kingsley Tochukwu Udeh expressed great admiration for the tremendous achievements of Chinese-style modernization, noting that China’s successful practices and innovative breakthroughs in science and technology offer valuable lessons and cooperation opportunities for Nigeria. He expressed a willingness to strengthen the alignment of science and technology development strategies with China, deepen the Nigeria-China partnership in sci-tech innovation, and expand mutually beneficial cooperation in relevant fields.
